| Firearm Training A 14 hour class designed to instruct the security officer in the moral and legal aspects on the use of the firearm while on duty. This course will not allow the student to carry a concealed weapon. There is no temporary firearm permit. Students must wait until a record check has been conducted by the state and federal agencies involved to receive the license. Must be 18 years of age. Fees Course: $330.00 (includes the use of one caliber of your choice and ammunition, as well as target and range fees), Add $15.00 for each additional caliber, plus $5.00 gun rental, The Class Fee includes your State Fee. NO hidden fees or expenses. Permit Application Fees If applying for Firearms Permit only: Live Scan $101.00, B.S.I.S. fee $ 80.00. (include in class fee) If applying for Firearms Permit and Guard Card: Live Scan $101.00, B.S.I.S. fee $130.00. Re qualification About one hour (indoor private range). In order to maintain a valid firearm license, a security officer must re-qualify four times during a two year period. Each re-qualification must be completed no sooner than four months between re-qualification. All four re-quals should be submitted for renewal to B.S.I.S. no later than 60 days prior to the expiration date in order to allow B.S.I.S. time to send the NEW license. You can sign up for follow-up reminders and SPECIAL SERVICES will send you a reminder post card or email when it is time for your requal.
